Perfected by my husband, this turkey meatball recipe has become a regular addition to our family’s menu. What really sets these meatballs apart and gives them great flavor, is the addition of fresh parsley and basil. TURKEY MEATBALLS WITH FRESH HERBS
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey (or chicken)
- ¼ cup plain panko breadcrumbs
- ¼ cup parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 4 cloves diced garlic
- ½ cup chopped fresh parsley
- 2 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
- 3 tablespoons diced onion
- ½ tsp Salt
- ¼ tsp Pepper
- 2 tablespoons Olive oil
- 25 oz Jar of tomato sauce
- 16 oz Package pasta
Instructions
- Prepare the ingredients.
- In a small bowl, beat egg and set aside.
- In a large bowl combine the turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic, parsley, basil, onion salt, pepper and egg.
- Mix all ingredients together and using your hands form into equal size meatballs (16-20).
- In a large non-stick pan, heat the olive oil on medium heat and add the meatballs. Cook turning occasionally for 8-10 minutes, or until browned on all sides.
- Add the jar of tomato sauce and cook for 3-5 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through.
- Serve with your favorite pasta and additional parmesan cheese. Enjoy.
