Wash the lime and slice into ΒΌ inch thick pieces.
Place 10 mint leaves in a 16-ounce glass.
Add 2 slices of lime to the glass. Using the muddler gently press and turn the muddler on top of the mint and lime. This pressing and turning will release the juice from the lime and the oil from the mint leaves.
Add 1-2 tablespoons of sugar to the glass (depending upon individual preference). Add 2 more slices of lime to the glass. Muddle the ingrediants together.
Fill the glass with ice.
Add 2 ounces of white rum (more or less to taste).
Fill the glass with seltzer and stir.
